Park-Related Budget and Other Hearings

They say that half of life is simply showing up. Well, 95% of
advocacy is simply showing up, and park advocates will have ample
opportunity to show up and have their voices heard in the coming
weeks. From the City of Atlanta Budget to Parks Visioning in the
Comprehensive Development Plan to the Belt Line, there are a
number of important public hearings coming up. If you care about
parks, this is your chance to change the fate or our parks and
greenspace simply by showing up. Below is a brief synopsis of
the hearings. Further details are attached. I hope to see many
of you there.

City Budget Hearings
2004 Nov 05 Friday 10-Noon City Hall Council Chambers

Comprehensive Development Plan - Park Visioning
2004 Nov 06 Saturday 10-Noon City Hall/Old City Council Chambers

BeltLine - Public Information Hearings
2004 Nov 11 Thursday 1-3 p.m. City Hall Council Conference Room 2
2004 Nov 11 Thursday 6-8 p.m. City Hall/Old City Council Chambers

Please note that the Comprehensive Development Plan visioning
meeting will set goals for the City to aspire to over the next
fifteen years--this your chance to help develop the vision of
what our park system will be. Will it include the BeltLine?
Will it meet the goals laid out nearly four years ago by the Park
Atlanta Rescue Campaign? You can help make influence the
outcome.

An old African proverb state, "When you talk, move your feet."
If you are interested in talking about parks and greenspace--and
having your voices heard--I urge you to move your feet to these
hearings. Thanks for your consideration.
