[LCN Newscast] McLendon Ave. Schedule Update

An update on the McClendon project,
forwarded by Councilor Natalyn Archibong:


1.  The City is currently looking into a modified bulb-out design
for Lake Claire.  Additional plans are being prepared for review
by the Office of Transportation.

2.  The City anticipates completing the Lake Claire portion of
the project, except for landscaping, by the end of September,
2004 (weather permitting).  Landscaping (trees and groundcover
at the bulb-outs for the entire project) will occur shortly
thereafter.

3.  The City will not add any more bulb-outs to the project
(such as at the bottom of the hill near Lake Claire Park).

4.  The traffic island at Southerland and the roundabout at
Howard Circle are still going to be constructed as per plan.
