McLendon Ave Update:
The original project completion date for the McLendon Avenue
traffic calming project was early July. With the delays and
work stoppage to review the design of the project, we now
anticipate an early September finish. The contractor was
able to remobilize and resume work on yesterday, June 22.

1600 McLendon Ave NE-5/24(2340 - 2350)Fellini's Pizza: The victim
and witnesses described 3-B/M's 18-25 yrs entered the business.
The first suspect wearing the blue shirt w/ "G-Unit" on it got a
drink and then grabbed the victim by the neck. Then the second
suspect wearing the black hooded shirt with a scarf over his face
came behind the counter with a dark gray semi auto handgun and
the third suspect stayed in front of the counter holding a silver
colored semi-auto handgun. The second and third suspects then
yelled, "Give us the money". The suspects then got the money from
the tip bowl and cash register. The victim that got grabbed by
the neck advised that the suspect told her, "This is a robbery".
The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim
stated that she had possible seen the suspect before but couldn't
place them. Prints recovered from the tip bowl and the cup that
the first suspect used.
1500 McLendon Ave NE-5/24(2240 - 2242) Candler Park. The victim
advised that a W/M juvenile 14-15 yrs 5'06"-5'07" 140 lbs with
blonde hair had possibly taken a silver/gold digital Kodak camera
from under a towel.
1500 McLendon Ave NE -6/1 (1336 - 1345) Candler Park. The victim
was riding his bike through Candler park when he was shot by a
pellet gun. The victim did not require medical treatment.
Afterwards the victim saw a young boy run from the scene. The boy
was identified.
400 Harold Ave NE-5/30 (0001) - 6/3 (2230) Owner states that his
shed's latch was broken sometime over the weekend and a Black and
Decker Leaf Hog was taken.
1800 McLendon 6/8 Garage broken into, mower, weed eater and
sheers taken
400 Page (two times) 6/8 Garages broken into, nothing missing
500 Candler Pk Dr 6/11 Shed broken into, yard items taken
400 Hardendorf-6/12 Burglary, entry through basement door. Items
taken leaf blower w/ attachments, extension cords on reels
1700 McLendon 6/12 Tool shed broken into. Items taken lawn mower,
chain saw, rake, hedge clippers
1700 McLendon 6/12 Storage shed door pried open. Lawn mower taken
1700 Marlbrook Dr- 6/14 (2030) 6/15 (1030)1991 Honda Civic 4dr
Gray. Stereo, CD's suspects broke the rear window and removed a
stereo and CD's.
1500 Mclendon Ave- 6/17(1530 - 1530)Candler Pk Pool: unknown
person stole cell phone from the concession stand counter.
1800 Mclendon Ave NE -6/16 (2200) to 6/17 (0930) 2004 Honda VTX
Motorcycle, Black, GA Tag.
1600 McLendon Ave NE -6/21 Felini's -Police responded to a
robbery in progress at Felini's Pizza, when they arrived the
manager, stated that the 2 unknown suspects were running west on
Mclendon Ave toward Candler Park. The area was searched but found
only a suspicious vehicle parked in Candler Park. The manager
stated that they had just closed and locked the business when the
2 suspects knocked on the door saying they needed to get in. When
he opened the doors the suspects pulled out what seemed to be a
black 9MM gun and demanded money. The manager gave them the two
cash drawers and suspects exited and started running west on
Mclendon Ave.
400 Leonardo Ave NE -6/22 (0800 - 1200) The victim stated that
sometime during the reported hours an unknown person entered her
house through the front window and stole her Sony Playstation Two
and several games. A latent fingerprint was recovered from the
window and turned into ID.
Good News: The person responsible for about 10 robberies from
March to early June in the VH, Emory, Decatur, Inman Pk, Candler
Pk and Lake Claire has been arrested and is in jail. He is the
ski mask bandit who used the silver handgun; started out polite
then escalated to more of a sexual orientation. Zone 6 says he
will be in jail for a very long time. A note, he got out of jail
last November.
