Frazer Forest Donation.

There is a proposal for a $1000 donation to thank the Frazer
Center for use of its facilities for our meetings. Lake Claire
specifically would like the money targeted for the upkeep of
the woods around the center. The Frazer Forest is just outside
the neighborhood and accessible via the Center's entrances and a
few "social" paths through private property. By meeting time
LCN officers will have talked to the management of the Frazer
Center to see how they would want a donation structured (i.e.
to the Frazer Center proper or via a "friends" group). If the
Frazer Center manages to set up a forest fund, it may be possible
for private individuals to make tax deductible donations to such
a fund. [Donations to the Frazer Center through Lake Claire
Neighbors are not tax deductible, however. As LCN does not pay
taxes (we are a not-for-profit corporation) the association would
see no tax benefits from the $1000 donation.]

2004 April/May Crime Stats

there was broken glass where the vehicle was parked in her
driveway.

300 Arizona Ave NE–4/24 (2355) The victim advised that a B/M
5'10"-5'11" 240-250 lbs wearing a blue jersey, black pants and
had a black ski mask covering his face. The victim stated that
the victim had approached her on the driveway as she turned the
corner at the end of the house and pulled out a silver handgun.
The suspect repeatedly asked the victim for her money but not her
car keys. When the suspect told the victim to get in her car she
refused and sat on the driveway. The suspect ran away on foot
but was seen by a neighbor getting into a green minivan possible
a Mercury Villager. The suspect got away with five One Dollar
bills.

Note: There have been numerous pedestrian robberies similar to
the one above in the Candler Park/Little Five Points and Virginia
Highlands area. The targets are always women. The times range
from late afternoon to early evening to late at night. The women
have been getting out of cars, walking dogs, walking alone or
walking with another woman. The perps always have a ski mask on.
If confronted, please do not resist, give up the money/purse.
Throw the purse in the opposite direction so the perp has to turn
away from you, then run. If you are out walking, don't carry a
wallet or a lot of cash.
