Please stop by Lake Claire Park and welcome two new neighbors:
Lady Jane Grey and Empress Matilda! Jane is a river birch
(Betula nigra) standing proudly between the lawn tennis court
and the walkway leading down from the Almeta entrance. Matilda
is a Shumard oak (Quercus shumardii) looking down the hill
just northwest from the walkway. Both are native to Georgia,
and they look forward to a long residence in Lake Claire.
Many thanks to our friends and volunteers from the Lake Claire
Garden Club for purchasing and planting these trees.
