Olmsted Linear Parks Rehab: 4 down, 2 to go.

Dedication set for October 31, 1:00 p.m.

This Halloween (before the ghosts come out) state, county,
and city leaders will join our communities in celebrating
completion of the $2.5 million project for Dellwood,
Shadyside, and Virgilee parks. They join their sister park,
Oakdale, dedicated last year, as newly rehabilitated Olmsted
Linear Parks.

The ceremony will be held in Dellwood Park near the corner of
Clifton Road and South Ponce de Leon Avenue. Everyone is
invited at 1:00 p.m. for the official opening of this
wonderfully renewed green space.

The ceremony will also kick off the fundraising campaign for
rehabilitation of the two remaining segments, Springdale and
Deepdene, which serve as the "bookends" to the linear park.
Springdale is the gateway to Atlanta. Deepdene is the gateway
to Decatur; it is the largest and most complex space, with
its stream, deep ravines and invasive, exotic plants.
