Due to a recent rise in break-ins, particularly while
residents are home asleep, we are sending a this e-mail
notice of crime statistics for Lake Claire.
Please keep windows and basement doors locked.

Clifton/DeKalb Car tag stolen 8/24/03
1900 McLendon Home Invasion: Perp is a black male, about
130-140 lbs, 5'7" to 5'8", dark clothing; entered through
an unlocked basement door about 8:30pm, weapon was a knife
he obtained from the kitchen; surprised a man/wife watching
TV; perp took wallet and money 8/28/03
200 Hampton Resident. burglary, items taken 8/29/03
200 southerland Resident. Alarm, open door 8/30/03

There is no beat book to read due to budget cuts. We do
not know if the book will be restarted. Please, if you are
the victim of a crime/know about one, please email me at
safety@lakeclaire.org . Continue to call 911 to report all
crimes. I do know of the following, but have few details.
300 Connecticut Resident. Burglary, victim 9/03/03
was in the house at time of break-in
200 Conn. Resident. burglary, items taken 9/06/03
access gained through an open window
200 Mathews Resident. Burglary 9/06/03
2000 McLendon Resident. Burglary 9/03/03
500 Hardendorf Attempted resident. Burglary, 9/03/03
perp tried to break-in at 4am, wore a ski mask, home
owner's car was in the drive next to the window used
to try and enter
Looks like the same guy may be responsible for the break-
ins on Connecticut, Mathews, McLendon and Hampton and the
attempted break-in on Hardendorf. There were also break-
ins on Iverson St and Sheppard Place in CPk that seemed to
have the same MO. Please be careful and lock your house,
especially windows and basement doors.
