With Autumn a few days away, and the leaves ripe for changing color,
the City of Atlanta has announced a new policy on Garbage,
Yard Trimmings, and Bulk Rubbish collections.

Here is a quick synopsis, please tell your neighbors...
GARBAGE. Weekly, following the current schedule.
YARD TRIMMINGS. Bi-Weekly (technically Semi-Monthly)
Beginning Oct. 7th,
+ If your garbage is collected weekly either on a Monday or Tuesday,
then yard waste will be picked up sometime during the week of the
1st and 3rd Monday of each month. No specific day assigned.
+ If your garbage is collected weekly either on a Wednesday or
Thursday, then yard waste will be picked up sometime during the week
of the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. No specific day assigned.
BULK RUBBISH. By appointment. Call (404) 330-6333
You can make an appointement now, first pick-ups begin mid-October.
Bulk rubbish includes large piles of branches, appliances, and
furniture. At some point in the future, the city will start
to fine homeowners who put out bulk rubbish but do not make a
pick-up appointment.
