[LCN Newscast] Mayor Visits Lake Claire, Feb 9

The new mayor of Atlanta, Shirley Franklin, will be
visiting neighborhoods in District 5 tomorrow along
with our new councilor, Natalyn Archibong.  Please
come out to meet these two elected representatives,
their Lake Claire schedule is as follows.

2002 February 09, Saturday approximately 1:30 - 2:00 p.m.

Stop #14 -- Intersection of Southerland Terrace and
DeKalb Avenue.  Members of our Traffic Committee will
show her this already dangerous intersection.  Traffic
will greatly increase here once the Sutherland Place
development is completed at the old McLendon Gardens site.

Stop #15 -- Lake Claire Land Trust, Arizona Avenue.

Stop #16 -- Lake Claire Park, 400 block of Lakeshore Drive.
Members of our Lake Claire Park committee will show the
mayor the success of recent maintenance enhancements to the
park made through coopertive efforts among the city,
Park Pride, and the neighborhood.  Identify areas of
planned capital improvements.  Mention upcoming neighborhood
park celebration in April.
