LAKE CLAIRE NEIGHBORS - SPECIAL & GENERAL MEETINGS
(See website for full details - www.lakeclaire.org)

Lake Claire Neighbors will hold two back-to-back meetings this Thursday
night, November 15, at the Frazer Center. A specially called meeting
will be held at 7pm to consider the removal of our President. The
General Meeting will follow this adjournment of this meeting.

SPECIAL MEETING FOR REMOVAL

This meeting will begin promptly at 7pm. This meeting is open only to
members. Members must prove residency by presenting a Photo ID at
sign-in. The format and procedures were formulated by the Executive
Committee as per their instuctions given by the membership at the
October meeting. If you wish to attend this meeting and vote, please
arrive early so that you can be seated by 7pm. Doors will open at
630pm. Please download the "flowchart" of the meeting procedures from
our website. The Executive Committee extents their apologies to those
that find the process cumbersome but the process was detailed to make
sure that the meeting would be fair to all.

The Bylaws allow a removal meeting to be called if a member makes a
motion for removal at two successive meetings. Teri Stewart and her
partner, Iris Hale, of Gordon Avenue have met these requirements to call
this special meeting.

NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER

More information can be found in the November newsletter. Newsletters
were only delivered to the carriers today (Monday) because of a
distribution mixup. If you have not received your newsletter by
tomorrow please call your carrier and ask for immediate delivery.

GENERAL MEETING: ELECTION OF 2002 OFFICERS

The General Meeting will begin at approximately 8:30pm. Several
important issues will be on the agenda including the election of new
officers. Two residents have expressed a desire to run for President:
David Hutchinson and Dennis McCarthy.

David was ruled ineligible because he did not attend the 4 meetings
required by our Bylaws. He may ask the membership to suspend the Bylaws
attendance requirement, but he will need a 2/3rds vote of the membership
to do so. David and his wife Jennifer Bowers live on McLendon and are
best known for renovating the house on McLendon formerly known as "The
Dump." He is circulating a flyer with a high-tech platform offering to
broadcast streaming video of meetings on the web.

Dennis McCarthy is currently LCN's VP-Finance or Treasurer. He is a
resident of Harold Avenue and is a Parks Planner by vocation. Dennis
spearheaded the Identity Sign project, the Neighborhood Welcome Flyer
and is also our webmaster. His platform centers around improving Lake
Claire Park and continuing oungoing projects such as the McLendon Avenue
streetscape renovation and the DeKalb Ave Neighborhood Commercial
Rezoning.
