LCN Safety Update

The following is a report from the Atlanta Police Department. Please
pass along to your neighbors. Please forward any comments or safety
information to Carol Mercer, LCN VP-Safety at (404) 373-6683 or
safety@lakeclaire.org.

Two 16 year olds thought to have taken part in the armed holdup on
Sterling Street were arrested by police today. The oldest perpetrator
is still at large.

A man thought to be responsible for 28 burglaries on McLendon and Euclid
was also arrested today. This burglary arrest may also clear a few in
LC as the perps tend to concentrate in areas.

The bad news: an attempted robbery occurred at the corner of McLendon
and Oakdale at 11:45 PM Monday night, October 8, 2001. The perpetrator
was a black male with some gold teeth driving a black Jeep Cherokee. A
man fitting this description driving a black Jeep Cherokee has killed
two people during robberies in the West End. No further description or
details are available at this time. This man is considered armed and
extremely dangerous. The police have told us to tell people to call 911
if anyone fitting this description is sighted. Note the direction of
travel and try to get the tag number.
